Warranty Policy
1 Warranty Period
1.1
All Invertek products with a manufacturing date after 1-June 2022 have warranty coverage of 2.5 Years from the date of invoice or maximum 3 years from date of manufacture. The date of manufacture is identified on the rating label of the product or on the carton label by date code and serial number. The date of invoice can be obtained by requesting a serial number check.
2 Limitation
Product is not covered by warranty in the following circumstances:
2.1 Product has been altered electrically in any way or has been subjected to misuse, accidental damage, unauthorised repair, or has been disassembled by anyone other than Invertek Drives or and Authorised Service Center (ASC).
2.2 Product has been improperly wired, installed, connected or applied not in accordance with the Company’s Manual.
2.3 The general maintenance relating to such product has not been observed or performed to an acceptable industry standard.
2.4 The product has been improperly stored and damaged whilst being stored by the Distributor/OEM.
2.5 The Distributor/OEM has failed to notify Invertek Drives within a reasonable period of time of a design defect causing repeated failures.
2.6 The Goods have been damaged by the carrier during transport and such damage is due to neglect, abuse, or improper handling by the carrier. All goods are shipped FOB Shipping Point unless agreed to in writing in advance in a separate agreement signed by both parties.
2.7 The product has been returned to Invertek Drives or our authorised Service Centre poorly packaged and has been damaged in transit.
2.8 The Customer has failed to notify the Company within a reasonable period of time of any design defect causing repeated failures;
2.9 Under no circumstances will the Company be liable for any labour costs or expenses involved in dismantling and reassembling any installed Goods or part thereof which is defective in design or manufacture.
3 Implementation
3.1 The Distributor/OEM who purchased the product should notify Invertek Drives immediately when products are suspected to require Warranty Service. Warranty processing is handled through the OEM/Distributor who directly purchased the product from Invertek Drives USA LLC.
3.2 All requests for service under Warranty, should start with a technical consultation via phone. Such consultation can be with the End Use customer or the OEM/Distributor. If determined to be suspect of a warrantable condition a completed Service Request Form (SRF) is required by the OEM/Distributor who directly purchased the product from Invertek drives USA LLC.
3.3 Completed SRFs will be analysed and where Invertek determines the product may be covered under the warranty policy a return authorisation number (RAN) will be issued with instructions on where to ship the suspect products(s). This is typically our closest Authorised Service Centre (ASC) or Invertek HQ in Illinois, USA.
3.4 At the discretion of Invertek, a credit may be issued for frame size 1 and 2 as repair/return under warranty may exceed
the cost of replacement. In this case, a credit against the original Invoice will be issued. A new PO is required for the
replacement product invoiced at the same price. This is to facilitate the new warranty and inventory tracking.
3.5 If a repair to the drive is identified at the discretion of Invertek as the most appropriate solution, Invertek will pay for
standard ground shipment to our closest ASC within the continental USA. Shipment can be handled via UPS or LTL depending
on the size of the product(s). If Distributors/OEMs ship product outside the continental USA freight to the ASC is the
responsibility of the Distributor/OEM who purchased the product unless otherwise authorised by Invertek Drives USA LLC.
3.6 The following information will be required before LTL collection can be organised:

Pickup address (and return address if different)
Dimensions (Length x Width x Height) of parcel/pallet
Packing Slip
3.7 Each product returned to Invertek or an ASC will be analysed to determine the cause of failure. In cases where the
product has failed due to a faulty component or build error (or undetermined cause), the product will be repaired and
returned to the originating address free of charge, provided it is within its warranty period.
3.8 Products returned and inspected resulting in no fault found (NFF) and thus not in need of repair will be returned to the
originating address and are subject to return carriage charges as well as an inspection fee (Ref 5.3). If Invertek does not
receive a reply and instruction for disposition to a notification of NFF or other request within 30 days the VFD(s) will be
scrapped.
3.9 All frame size 3 and 4 drives must be returned complete and where possible frame size 5~8. Invertek may not require
return of Optidrive ODE-3/ODP-2/ODV-3 size 1 and 2 products.
3.10 Product returned that is determined to be out of warranty (or subject to the Limitations in section 2 above) can be
quoted for repair upon request and is subject to carriage costs to/from the ASC or Invertek’s office and a warranty inspection
fee.
3.11 Product returned under warranty will be repaired (build or component fault only) cleaned, software upgraded and
passed through our “end of line test procedure”, but it is not completely serviced or replaced. If a full service is required, this
can be carried out at an extra charge.
3.12 All repairs and replacements will be issued to the Distributor/OEM and may be consolidated along with a suitable
pending order. Where no current orders exist, shipment will be by arrangement between Invertek and the Distributor/OEM
to the originating address.
3.13 Any drive repaired outside of warranty at an authorised Invertek Service Centre in the USA or Canada may carry a
warranty based on the policy of the individual ASC. Such warranty is between the ASC and the Distributor/OEM and
completely outside the scope of Invertek’s warranty.
3.14 On request, a Service Report can be provided indicating the possible causes of the failure along with any preventative
recommendations.
3.15 Under no circumstances will the Company be liable for labour costs or expenses involved in dismantling and
reassembling any installed product or part thereof which is defective in design or manufacture.
4 Discontinued Product
4.1 Product which is no longer manufactured by Invertek Drives Ltd, but still under warranty, may be returned for repair.
Please check with Invertek Drives USA LLC and your local authorised Service Centre.
4.2 In the event that a product is not repairable, the customer will be contacted and offered a product similar to the original
products specifications.
5 Replacement Procedure
5.1 When product fails within the warranty period and has been identified as possibly repairable under warranty, we understand the end-user may require a replacement drive for the period of time that the original drive is out of service being repaired. It is not possible for Invertek to replace all drives suspect of warranty with new product and not possible or legal to service products and then resell them as new.
5.2 Where a replacement is required by the Distributor/OEM and repair of the suspect product cannot be awaited; a purchase order for a new product is required and invoiced at the same price as the suspect product. If the suspect drive is found to be free of warrantable defect, the OEM/Distributor is responsible for the replacement product including the cost of carriage and the cost of carriage of the suspect product to/from the closest ASC. If the suspect drive is confirmed to require repair under warranty; it will be repaired and returned free of charge. Plus, the carriage costs of the replacement product will additionally be credited.
5.3 Invertek reserves the right to charge a warranty inspection fee applicable to products returned and found to be free of any warrantable defect. Carriage charges both to and from the ASC will also be charged to the OEM or Distributor originating the SRF. If Invertek does not receive a reply and instruction for disposition to a notification of NFF within 30 days the VFD(s) will be scrapped.
6 Local Repair/Spare Parts
6.1 Authorised Service Centres (trained by Invertek) are able to carry out local warranty repairs using factory authorised parts. See our current list of ASDs on our website or by request.
6.2 Non-Authorised Service centres should only attempt warranty repairs with the approval of Invertek. Parts details and prices can be obtained on request and issued immediately subject to availability.
